Description

This Tech Alert is relevant only for Alteon devices using the GEL licensing in CLS (Cloud License Server) mode.
On February 4, 2025, Flexera, Radware’s Cloud Licensing Server provider, will update the certificate for *.compliance.flexnetoperations.com. This certificate is used for CLS (Cloud License Server) communication.  
To ensure there are no interruptions with your environment, Radware asks that you update your Alteon devices or update the Trust CA certificate used for GEL communication before February 4, 2025.
If the Alteon Trust CA Certificate used for GEL is not updated before February 4, 2025:

  • The Alteon devices will not be able to establish any connection with the CLS. The following syslog will be issued: WARNING system: No communication with primary license server.

  • The Alteon devices will enter a 30-day grace period. During that period, the devices use the latest license obtained from the CLS. If the communication with the CLS is not renewed by the time the grace period ends, Alteon devices will reduce their throughput to 1 Mbps.

  • 32.6.16.0
  • 33.0.12.0

  • 34.0.4.0

Workaround

If you currently do not want to upgrade your device, you can manually update the *.compliance.flexnetoperations.com Root Certificate Authority (CA) to ensure compatibility with the new certificate of the GEL Cloud License Server.
The following procedure needs to be done before February 4, 2025:
