Symptom

After upgrading to Alteon version 34.0.9.0, management of Alteon via Cyber Controller is no longer possible.

Description

This issue is caused by a problem with the virt_visionTableDb file in the device driver package Alteon-34.0.9.0-DD-1.00-6 being empty.
In other versions such as Alteon-34.0.10.0-DD-1.00-8, the file is correctly populated with the required fancy name mappings.

Solution

Follow the workaround provided.

Workaround

  1. Download the updated DD .jar with the fix file, attached to this Tech Alert (Alteon-34.0.9.0-DD-1.00-7.zip).

  2. In Cyber Controller, navigate to Configuration > General Settings > Device Drivers.

  3. Select an Upload Device Driver.

  4. Upload the latest DD .jar file with the file that you downloaded.

  5. Click Update to Latest Driver.

  6. Restart Cyber Controller.
